In September 2026, we will open our first flagship showroom in Hawksburn Village, a considered, design led retail environment that brings our world to life in a physical space for the first time.

This flagship represents a defining chapter in our brand journey and we are now seeking an exceptional Private Client Advisor to join our founding retail team.

About the Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join the launch of the Rachel Donath flagship showroom and become a trusted advisor to our clients as they furnish and shape their homes and projects.

As a Private Client Advisor, your role is centred on building meaningful, long term relationships rather than transactional selling. You will deliver an elevated and highly personalised experience, guiding clients through considered purchasing journeys that often unfold over months rather than days.

You will act as both host and advisor, creating memorable showroom experiences while developing an intimate understanding of each client's aesthetic preferences, project requirements and aspirations.

Working closely with retail, trade and interior design clients, you will nurture relationships that extend well beyond a single purchase and contribute to the continued growth of our client community.

The Role

As Private Client Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional client experiences while developing and maintaining long term client relationships across retail, trade and interior design audiences.

You will create an environment where clients feel welcomed, understood and inspired, while providing thoughtful guidance throughout their design journey.

Success in this role will be measured not simply by sales performance, but by the quality of relationships developed, repeat business generated and the exceptional experience delivered at every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

Private Client Relationships & Clientelling

Develop and maintain long term relationships with private clients, trade partners and interior designers

Build a deep understanding of clients' homes, projects, design preferences and future purchasing intentions

Maintain detailed client records and proactively identify opportunities for future engagement

Follow up thoughtfully and consistently with clients throughout their purchasing journey

Develop repeat business through exceptional service and relationship management

Create highly personalised experiences tailored to individual client needs and preferences

Cultivate a portfolio of loyal clients who view Rachel Donath as a trusted design partner

Hosting & Showroom Experience

Act as an exceptional host within the showroom environment

Welcome clients warmly and create an experience that feels considered, effortless and memorable

Conduct private showroom appointments and personalised consultations

Guide clients through collections, finishes and styling options with confidence and expertise

Ensure every visit reflects the premium positioning and values of the brand

Maintain an impeccably presented and inviting showroom environment

Sales & Design Consultation

Provide thoughtful product guidance and styling support across furniture, lighting and accessories

Support clients through complex and considered purchasing decisions

Prepare quotations and proposals while managing projects through to completion

Collaborate closely with the customer experience and operations teams to ensure seamless execution

Contribute to achieving showroom sales and commercial objectives through relationship led selling

Support trade and interior design clients with project specifications and product selections

Community & Brand Building

Develop relationships within Melbourne's interior design and architecture community

Support the delivery of in store events, collection launches and private client experiences

Represent the brand with warmth, confidence and professionalism

Act as an ambassador for Rachel Donath both within and beyond the showroom

About You

You are naturally warm, polished and highly relational, with a genuine passion for interiors, design and hospitality.

You understand that luxury is defined not by transactions, but by experience, attention to detail and meaningful relationships.

You will bring:

Previous experience in premium retail, luxury hospitality, interior design or relationship based sales

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

A natural ability to build rapport and long term relationships

Confidence in hosting clients and delivering highly personalised experiences

Strong commercial awareness with a consultative approach to selling

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

A passion for interiors, furniture and design

A proactive and self motivated approach to client development

Experience working with interior designers, architects or trade clients will be highly regarded but is not essential.
